The Maldon Golf Club Annual Tournament takes place this coming weekend of Friday 23 to Sunday 25 August and is expected to attract players from across the state and beyond. Club Secretary Bob Briggs says that up to 180 golfers from over 20 regional clubs will be represented. “Most district clubs try to support each other,” he says. “They come to Maldon and have a day away.” The event is hosted and managed each year by the committed volunteers of Maldon Golf Club, who undertake most tasks including ground maintenance and catering. “The traditional golfers’ afternoon tea will be served each day of the tournament,” Bob says.
