Maldon Hotel Our top three would be: 1. Pizza 2. Chicken Parma 3. Lemon & Pepper Calamari We have adapted quite quickly to Stage 3 as it is our second time around and we sort of know what to expect and what is popular. We appreciate all the support we have had over our 8.5 years at the Maldon Hotel but especially during this year. Things are definitely different and a bit harder but the locals support have made things so much easier – Michael.
Berryman’s Cafe and Tea Rooms 1. Lambs Fry (from our ready made frozen takeaway menu) 2. Jacket potato (from our everyday lunch menu) 3. Beef burger (with onion rings, American cheese and chilli coleslaw). As well as the standard menu and the individual ready-made frozen meals, we will soon be offering family size, ready-made frozen meals. With regards to Stage 3, it’s going as well as can be expected. Cafe Maldon Our top three takeaway foods this time around. 1. Our Housemade pies!! And coffee 2. Bacon, Egg Toasties and coffee 3. Maldon Burger with chips Did I mention coffee? Wow!! Second time round is certainly different than the first! It’s a little quieter, a little colder but I would like to think we are a little wiser ... Gold Exchange Cafe The first would have to be our coffee. Second would be the Brekky Rolls. Third would be the raspberry and white chocolate muffins. It’s been alright but it’s certainly taken a hit since Melbourne got locked down and the return to Stage 3 in regional Victoria was a double hit. But we’ve got locals coming in to support us – not just me but all of the cafes, which is what we need to come out the other side. Thank you, everyone - Cathy.
As Maldon’s cafes and hotels go back to takeaway service only following the return to Stage 3 restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus, the TT asked all of our local hospitality owners how they are faring and what are their top three takeaway foods?
