A group of Hickory Golf enthusiasts converged on Maldon Golf Club last weekend to play the Walter Travis Schenectady Putter Trophy as part of a weekend tournament. These fans of old-fashioned golf technology played on Sunday 26 August with wooden clubs; many were restored antiques. Some players wore traditional golfing attire known as plus fours; knickerbockers that are so-named because they extend four inches below the knee. The TT attended to chat about the appeal of the vintage style game.
